The verdict
The Brunch Lady has everything you need in order to be happy and healthy (kind of like a certain giraffe called Harold). Being a smoothie bar, breakfast bar AND salad bar, this is the perfect place to get a take-away brekkie or lunch (aka brunch) when you’re on the run. Natasha Pillion, owner of The Brunch Lady, opened up shop after realising that Sydney was in dire need of a healthy take-away shop. We know being healthy can be extremely costly, however The Brunch Lady makes this easier for us with nothing over $15.
The philosophy is to be able to eat food as close to its natural state as possible but without putting all those swanky labels on it. There are super smoothies available all day that are likely to fill you right up and are all made on a base of homemade almond milk. The Almighty Chai is made with frozen acai, banana, mixed berries, vanilla protein and coconut water. From the breakfast bar you can get the superfood muesli bowl, a range of breakfast sandwiches, the egg and spinach superfood wrap or The Brunch Lady breakfast salad! These meals have all the healthy nutrients you need to kick-start your day.
Sydney definitely needed a boutique salad bar, and The Brunch Lady fortunately came to the rescue. You can design your own salad which is organised for you in steps; first you pick your protein, then two bases where you can choose from a range of lettuces, brown rice or quinoa, then you pick up to six ingredients to make your salad colourful and then finally the salad dressing to top it all off! There are also some pre-designed salads available if designing one on your own is too much of a mental challenge pre-lunching.
