The Fold by Two Good Co.
Social enterprise Two Good Co has opened The Fold, a purpose-led café and community space inside the Victoria Cross precinct in North Sydney.
The café builds on the success of Two Good’s laneway coffee cart, which has been serving commuters and locals at the site since 2024. The Fold expands that offering into a full café designed as a place to sit, meet and reset within the growing VicX precinct.
Like all Two Good ventures, the café operates with a built-in social impact model. Half of profits are directed into the organisation’s Work Work employment program, which provides training and paid opportunities for women with lived experience of domestic violence, homelessness and complex trauma. The venue also offers hospitality work experience placements for women participating in the program.
The kitchen is led by Chef Ayse Moonen, known for produce-driven cooking shaped by time spent at Aplenty and Cornersmith Picklery. The menu features bright, herb-forward flavours with subtle Turkish influences.
The signature menu item is the café’s namesake “Folds”—pita sandwiches layered with generous fillings. Options include lamb kofta with lemon sumac slaw, tahini and pickles, alongside a vegetarian version featuring charred eggplant with the same vibrant accompaniments.
The menu also includes nourishing bowls built around seasonal vegetables, with optional protein add-ons. Coffee is supplied by Single O, and the café serves bread from Baker Bleu, with loaves also available for purchase.
Connected to the café is The Landing, a flexible co-working and event space designed to host community gatherings, exhibitions and creative programming.
Designed by Melbourne-based studio Fiona Lynch Office, the venue forms part of the evolving Victoria Cross retail precinct, bringing together hospitality, social impact and community connection in the heart of North Sydney.
