The verdict
One of Sydney’s classic English pubs, The Lord Dudley has opened a new restaurant, The Garden, and this one is a little bit special. Sitting beneath a new glass atrium (yep, The Lord Dudley has had a pretty epic makeover), The Garden is serving up classic English fare (because hearty food is a must in winter), with a distinctly modern twist.
Think house made and pan fried gnocchi with shavings of Australian truffle to start, or for mains; a crumbled veal cutlet or Mirrool Creek lamb rack, to keep those Sunday roast vibes coming in strong. The dessert menu is concise, with a sticky date ice cream sandwich (we’re listening), citrus flourless chocolate cake (now we’re talking), and a selection of cheese if sweet just isn’t your thing.
The fit out is a similar story, with sandstone walls—a la classic pub—with the glass roof and marble bar bringing the more modern vibes. We suggest you head here, settle in and order one of everything.
