The verdict

Step into a hidden world at The Grounds of Alexandria's The Lock In. Behind huge doors exists a space where you and your nearest and dearest can enjoy total privacy (and a tonne of delicious drinks and food).

This is your own private space (this is a group bookings only place) with your own private bartender on hand, where you can order what you wish or simply let the events expert tailor the perfects drink package for you and your crew. When you're thinking of food (and who are you kidding, you always are), the food menu is what you can expect from The Grounds i.e. It's awesome.

The Lock In is perfect for groups who want a bit of seclusion and a whole lot of indulgence. We're talking hens nights, bucks parties, team lunches and any other event you can think of, really.

Intrigued? Thought so. Find out more about about hiring this space for your next event. We guarantee you it won't be like any event you've been to before.

Bar Demo

Bar Demo is a late-night vinyl bar in Newtown, designed for lovers of a well-crafted drink without the fuss. Owners Claudia Morgan and Olly Churcher (Ex-Double Deuce Lounge) are bartenders by trade, so there’s faith to be had in their curated 60-bottle wine list and seasonally crafted cocktails. The venue itself has grown from their joint experiences working and sipping in some of Sydney’s best bars—Morgan says “we wanted somewhere open late where we could buy a bottle without sitting down for a meal, sink some martinis, listen to some interesting music or have a dance”. Bar Demo certainly checks all of the boxes: open 5pm—midnight, Wednesday—Saturday, with no full kitchen but a dedicated menu for snacks, and a soundtrack of full albums played on vinyl, with each night featuring a curated selection of tunes.
