The verdict

Specialising in all the deliciousness that is grill, wok and wine, The Ternary, located inside the Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour, plates up some seriously good food seven days a week.

They say good things come in threes and there is no other place in Sydney that takes this concept on board more than these guys. In fact, their name is derived from the Latin word ‘ternarius’, meaning, you guessed it, in threes, and this love affair with the number three becomes apparent from the moment you cast your eyes over their damn tasty menu.

The Ternary offers Sydney foodies three delicious restaurants all in the one space (talk about convenience) with The Grill Kitchen, Asian Kitchen and The Ternary Bar.

The Grill Kitchen will see you enjoying some of Sydney’s best meat and seafood, grilled on a naked flame in the heart of the restaurant. With 300g sirloin, scotch fillet and 400g t-bones on offer, this is the place to go for a steak cooked just how you like it. There’s also a grilled fish of the day for something lighter, along with veal osso bucco and linguini pasta.

The Asian Kitchen has all of the crowd favourites, like chicken dim sim, Thai fish cakes and slow braised short ribs. The menu here manages to combine all the best flavours of Asian cuisine, so your table can feast on whatever they’re craving, including Thai, Malay, Indian and more.

You can also change up the weekly routine with their Express Lunch menu, available on Thursdays and Fridays. It is the perfect option for anyone looking to have a client lunch, a team lunch or just enjoy the view and treat yourself, you work hard after all. There are one, two and three course options and they will even throw in two hours free parking, which you’ll appreciate the value of if you’ve ever tried to park in Pyrmont.

The Ternary Bar combines totally Instaworthy panoramic views with The Ternary’s signature five star service. The bar is where the share plates come to play, with the menu including tapas with a twist: think pumpkin and spinach arancini, slow braised pork sliders and white fish ceviche to get those taste buds going. There’s also something more substantial with club sandwiches, wagyu beef burgers and lightly battered fish and hand cut chips. All your favourite cocktails are here too, from espresso martinis to a carafe of Pimm’s, as well as house creations like the drop bear zombie with rum, lime, pineapple, banana and coconut cream, not to mention their award-winning wine list!

The Ternary has every day, and most importantly every meal, sorted.
