The verdict

For those days when you want, no need, something just this side of ‘clog my veins with naughtiness’, we give you Thiq Bar & Eatery. That means you’ll be filling your face with a hot pastrami burger for brunch and a not-your-average-schnitty schnitzel for dinner FYI. 

The menu is divided into three sections—brunch, dinner, and charcuterie. We love it when anyone understands our love and need for allll of the charcuterie, and boy do they get it. This bad boy has 14 options in the charcuterie stakes, everything from vintage cheddar to octopus salami and your bestie jamon serrano. 

Thiq’s menu ticks the boxes on all of your favourite NYC-style eats, but with a pimped twist. The pastrami burger is more like a jaffle, made with house-smoked pastrami, Gruyere cheese and sauerkraut on a milk bun and their New York New York is a squid ink bagel with house-cured salmon pastrami, avocado labneh, green salad and 63-degree eggs. See, pimped. 

For dinner, you’ll be hitting up the wine and cocktail list first and foremost. The cocktails are, how do we say, risqué? With names like tie me up, against-the-wall and insatiable, you’ll be spoilt for choice, so take a gamble and tell the bartender to surprise you. 

Follow it up with all the charcuterie you can handle (or you know, afford), then switch straight to mains. We’re all about the holy sheet carbonara, mainly because it involves a garlic crumb. Can you really blame us? Didn’t think so.
