Tokyo Laundry
The verdict
Tokyo Laundry is the newest recruit to the delicious line up at Gateway, Circular Quay and we’re already big fans. With Chef Naoki Hozawa (formerly of Yoshii and Saké) on the pans, you can expect modern Japanese dishes with a twist, like the Tai Usudukuri; snapper carpaccio with grated chilli daikon and white shirodashi, Tokyo Laundry’s signature Lobster Roll, and confit wagyu beef with roppongi sauce.
The drinks list is equally as impressive with a long list of sakés, buttery chardonnays, signature cocktails and a crisp rosé (who doesn’t love a crisp rosé?). On the cocktail front, we ordered the gin ginger spice (Gin Mare, lemon, rosemary, topped with house-made spiced Ginger Beer) and the nihon gin (saké, Beefeater London dry gin, lemon, lime, dry tonic, salted nori). Take our word for it—you need to hit the cocktail list up.
Tokyo Laundry is set to open a champagne and oyster bar in the coming months, so stay tuned.
