The verdict
Uncle Tetsu’s Angel Garden is the newest dessert café to set up camp in Sydney and yes, there will be delicious, Japanese-style cheesecake. Since Uncle Tetsu opened it’s first take away cheesecake shop in Sydney late last year—to hoards of people—you’ve all gone a little bit mental for it. Well, now there’s a new kid in town and here, you’ll be able to settle in with your dessert and stay a little while. It's conveniently located downstairs from the original shop on George street, so run—don't walk—here.
Staying true to style, the desserts at Uncle Tetsu’s new sit-in café is made from mostly Australian ingredients, like the new honey-flavoured cheesecake (which is made with Australian honey) and the chocolate cakes (made with Lindt). The exception to the rule is their new green tea-flavoured cheesecake, is made with matcha flown in especially from Japan–we’ll forgive them.
