This Minimal Intervention Wine Brand Plants 1sqm Of Reforestation For Every Bottle Sold

By Morgan Reardon

15th Apr 2024

With Earth Day right around the corner (FYI that’s 22 April), we all want to do our bit to help nourish the incredible land we call home. And it’s never been easier thanks to one of our favourite sustainable sips—one to one wines—who are stepping up in a big way this year.

The Rundown

If you’re not familiar with this epic tipple, it’s time to get acquainted. Launched in 2023 by award-winning South Australian winemakers Oxford Landing, the collection of wines was created specifically for environmentally conscious vino-lovers (*raises hand), who want to make a positive impact on the planet with their purchases.

As well as being sustainably grown in South Australia and bottled in 95% recycled glass, one to one is committed to 1m² of reforestation for every case (aka six bottles) sold, through a partnership with Greenfleet Australia, a not-for-profit environmental organisation protecting our climate by restoring our forests.

This Earth Day Sip And Save The Planet

But this April, the team behind one to one are going one step further. To celebrate Earth Day, they’ve promised to plant 1m² of native bushland for every single bottle of vino sold at Dan Murphys for the entire month. Nope, that’s not a typo, you really can save the planet with every sip.

Sustainably produced and consciously crafted, the range is vegan, low preservative and minimal intervention. So you can sip your way through their epic range knowing you’re helping to preserve the future of our beautiful backyard—the very place you’ll be sitting back to enjoy your new favourite drop.

Oxford Landing has planted over 200,000 native bushes and trees so far—regenerating an acre of beautiful South Australian bushland for every acre of vineyard they’ve planted. This is why you’ll find the Ruby Saltbush flower sitting above a vine leaf on every bottle’s label—a reminder of the heart and ethos of this incredible wine range.

The bushlands being restored through one to one are located in Victoria. The first project was on Dja Dja Wurrung Country in Central Victoria, where Greenfleet was restoring endangered temperate woodlands. Now that that project is complete, one to one is supporting the restoration of Ledcourt on Jardwadjali & Djabwurung Country. This site is adjacent to the Grampians National Park and Greenfleet is working to restore the cleared areas and bolster the existing ecosystems with ground cover species. Yep, you have the power to make these worthy projects spread even further with a single purchase.

The Profiles On Offer

Not sure which sip to sample? There’s a light-bodied, zesty sparkling cuvée that’s perfect for everything from boozy brunches to vibrant dinners. Long lunches were made for their crisp rosé, with flavours of Turkish Delight and a dry finish that will leave you wanting more.

Perfect for winter, their luscious range of reds shouldn’t be missed either. With aromas of chocolate and red berries, the Merlot is incredibly moreish, while the fresh plum and vanilla oak Shiraz is so tasty you’ll be tempted to walk away with half a dozen bottles. And with the temps dropping, their Cabernet Sauvignon is your new favourite drop. Think blackberry, plums, blackcurrant and tobacco leaf—perfect for curling up on the couch with or taking to a dinner party.

Tempted? We thought so. Remember every purchase you make this April and beyond helps Greenfleet restore habitats, regenerate ecosystems and enrich native biodiversity leading to a greener, more sustainable planet. We’ll drink to that!
