The 11-date run was meant to be headlined by Aussie metal heavyweights Parkway Drive, with stops locked in across NSW, Queensland, Victoria, WA and SA. Tickets were already selling like hotcakes, hype was building… and now it’s all gone up in smoke.
In a statement on the Park Waves website, organisers broke the “devastating” news, pointing to rising costs and a pile-up of financial headaches that made pulling the plug the only option. Not exactly the circle-pit energy anyone was hoping for.
If you were planning to dust off the black band tee and hit the road, looks like you’ll have to save the mosh for another day.
It's disappointing news for festival-goers, who will be refunded the full cost of their tickets, however all hope is not lost. As summer swings into action, so do an absolute swag of other festivals and tours from both local and international artists.
