Powderfinger Confirm National Tour 16 Years After Breaking Up
In big news for dads all around the country, Brisbane legends Powderfinger have announced their making a comeback.
A solid 16 years after the band went their separate ways, the Aussie music icons have confirmed on Instagram that they’ll be reuniting for a string of shows next year.
“We always said that if we were going to get back together to do some shows, you guys would be the first to know and so now you’re the first to know.” said Bernard Fanning in the video. “We’re going to do some shows all around Australia from September next year.”
While exact dates and locations are yet to be announced, it’s a pretty safe bet that Brisbane will make the cut as the birthplace of the award-winning rockers. On a cryptic Instagram account called The Return Of The Electric Horseman (a nod to the song on their 1996 album Double Allergic), posts showed billboards in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide so we’re hazarding a guess the tour will hit up those cities.
For now, you can sign up for further announcements on their official website here.
“We’re going to build something pretty special just for you guys,” said Darren Middleton.
