Things To See & Do

Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience

This 360-degree digital art experience invites you to step into more than 300 of Vincent Van Gogh’s sketches, drawings, and paintings by using floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall large-scale digital projections. Become immersed in the colours, movement and beauty of Van Gosh’s work while expanding your knowledge and understanding of the complex artists.

Alongside the extensive artwork is a showcase of the traditional Japanese art style of woodblock stamps and prints plus an authentic matcha tea ceremony where guests can enjoy a taste of fresh matcha—all a nod to Van Gosh’s interest in the Japonisme movement and the ancient art of Japanese woodblocking that rose to fame in France during the 1880s. A multisensory Virtual Reality (VR) experience also offers a look into Van Gogh’s world like no other. Be sure to catch Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience at The Forum, RWS before October 2023. Head over here for all the details.

Places To Eat & Drink

table65

Experience Michelin dining at table65. The restaurant was proudly awarded one Michelin star in 2022’s Michelin Guide Singapore, to no surprise. A casual and relaxed setting accompanies elevated dishes the likes of ceviche of sea bass with tiger milk and kaffir lime, and fluffy egg “Soufflé”, with vin jaune with bacon and black truffle—a truly decadent experience. The open kitchen also allows for dinner and a show as the chefs work their culinary magic.

Ocean Restaurant

Continuing on the theme of underwater experiences, Ocean Restaurant allows you to dine—you guessed it—underwater. The restaurant is the first of its kind in Southeast Asia with bespoke windows allowing you to share your meal in the company of majestic manta rays and marine animals. The menu offers sustainably sourced seafood alongside modern European cuisine, with must-tries such as grilled hand-dived scallops with celeriac and bottarga, and lobster ravioli with Granny Smith apple and Foie Gras.

Syun

Take your taste buds on a culinary adventure to Japan without leaving the resort. Under the guidance of celebrity chef Hal Yamashita, Syun perfects Japanese fusion fine dining. The dishes are skilfully presented like culinary works of art with ingredients flown in fresh from Japan. Try Omi beef and sea urchin rolls topped with smoked caviar, and an extensive range of premium sashimi, finishing with homemade Sasho Pepper-flavoured ganache for dessert.

Soi Social

If you like a little sizzle with your Singapore snacks, Soi Social is one foodie venue not to be missed. From the vibrant atmosphere to the aroma of grilling meat skewers wafting through the air, there’s plenty that will draw you into the new, chic hangout of progressive Thai gastronomy. Start with the chef’s favourite, Chiang mai duck sausages with wild betel leaf, ginger, peanuts and chilli, and chargrilled prawn skewers, followed by Tom Ka Min Barramundi in aromatic turmeric coconut soup, and finish with mango sticky rice.

CHIFA!

If you love Peruvian and Chinese cuisine, CHIFA! Is a must-visit. Birthed in the 1800s when Chinese immigrants incorporated Peru’s culinary heritage, ‘Chifa’ is a combination of Cantonese and Peruvian flavours and techniques. Ingredients such as rice, meat, noodles and vegetables are all important staples. Savour this hybrid delight at Singapore’s first Chifa restaurant through Peruvian-native Chef Ruben Rodrigo Serrano Cabrera’s creations such as Yellowfin tuna tamarind ceviche, mussel, clam and prawn Chilcano soup and charcoal Wagyu chifero.
