Keen to gift a bit more consciously this Christmas? While it can be the season for excess, picking prezzies that give back is a great way to give thanks to your nearest and dearest after a long year, without indulging in products and practices that aren’t as planet or people-friendly as we’d really prefer.

There are plenty of charitable gifts to consider—like adopting an animal with WWF Australia or donating directly to your favourite charity. But top of our list this year for a gift that gives back is The Hunger Project’s amazing Hamper for Change.

If you’re not familiar with The Hunger Project, THP’s goal is to end world hunger—which is an incredible mission to support always—but feels especially relevant as we live out the season of long lunches, big feasts, and the classic Christmas food coma. Ending world hunger might seem like a lofty goal, but THP takes a different approach, empowering individuals with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to break the poverty cycle.

As for what’s included in THP’s Christmas hampers, they're filled with both treats and trinkets and there are two to choose from. And yep, 100% of the proceeds go directly to THP’s work.

They've partnered with The Gourmet Pantry to produce each hamper and among the goodies inside you'll find a Camilla silk scrunchie, a Peppermint Grove candle, a vintage-style cap from Barney Cools, Decjuba x The Hunger Project bracelets, Pico chocolate bars, Montalto sparkling rosé,  Bared Footwear x The Hunger Project socks and playing cards, a Kinnon leather cardholder, and Wash Wild hand sanitiser and hand wash.

The hamper also includes a necklace from Secret Sisterhood, a social enterprise that sells meaningful jewellery and donates 100% of its profits to women’s empowerment causes.

So, if you're on the hunt for a gift that gives a lot and gives back—the Hamper for Change needs to be top of your list.
