Prove Patisserie

Founded in 2020 by pastry chef Megan Bowditch and Anna Rogers, Prove Patisserie is famous for 72-hour laminated croissants, sourdough, and seasonal danishes, often selling out early.
And their annual hot cross buns are no exception. Made from semi sourdough, this year features their famous traditional buns packed full of fruit and a choc chip variety made with melt-in-your-mouth Belgian chocolate.

The unmissable artisan bakery in Bowden’s Plant 3 precinct, The Lost Loaf has earned a reputation for its 36-hour fermented sourdough and a key ingredient in their just-in-time-for-Easter signature sourdough hot cross buns full of fruits – a mix of Australian apricots, figs, currants and sultanas.

Ice cream giant Messina’s sister shop Shadow Baking is back again this year with their hybrid hot cross scrolls: a laminated hot cross bun dough with custard and soaked fruit. There’s also a chocolate version up for grabs this Easter. Run, don't walk.

Banana Boogie Bakery is sticking to the classics this Easter with their fruit hot cross bun, perfectly spiced with the juiciest local fruit they could source. “It has taken many months of tweaking and refining, but we feel like we've finally perfected the recipe!,” says the Belair-based bakery. The perfect-recipe buns will also be available at their express location in North Plympton.

Bottega Bandito is whipping up fluffy, triple-chocolate buns inspired by the Italian dessert, tiramisu. As John – Bottega Bandito’s head baker and the brains behind the establishment’s latest hot cross buns – puts it: "It's not your usual tiramisu.
