Where To Play Mini Golf In Christchurch

By Vanessa Ortynsky

Mini Golf Christchurch

Who doesn’t love a round of mini-golf with friends? It’s a hole different way to enjoy the city (get it?) and Christchurch has plenty of options for a fun afternoon or evening out on the green. We’ve done the research and rounded up the best spots to perfect your swing.

Here is where to play mini golf in Christchurch.

City Putt and Cruise

Central City

Opposite the Margaret Mahy playground, City Putt and Cruise is a distinctly Christchurch course. Whether you’re a visitor or a local, this is the place to school up on your Christchurch history while making your way around the course. The central city spot celebrates Christchurch’s past with historic features alongside each hole. Grab a coffee from a nearby cafe (both Caffeine Laboratory and Table at Monk’s are good options) and get into a game. They also have cruiser bikes available for hire, perfect for exploring the central city.

Monsters and Zombies Mini Golf

Ferrymead

When the weather isn’t on your side, head to Monsters and Zombies for a fun indoor mini putt option. Spooks are guaranteed at this super eerie, 18-hole course, which includes different monsters and zombies at each hole. We recommend an evening visit when paired with a truly frightening soundtrack and a handful of tricks and surprises, you’re in for heaps of laughs and surely a few frights as well. There’s a cafe and bar onsite with burgers, pizzas and a kids' menu.

Caddyshack City

King Edward Terrace

Caddyshack is our favourite all-weather mini golf option. With 18 holes, it’s perfect for all different skill levels and is an all-around good time. Take the challenge and conquer the mini-city, including mini landmarks and buildings. Believe us, it’s hard not to get too competitive on this course. Perfect for events and functions of all sorts, Caddyshack offers a catering option, with canapes and desserts. They also open outside their regular hours for large bookings, so it’s worth enquiring if you’ve got something in the works. They’ll even customise the menu to your requests, so everyone leaves happy.

Ferrymead Golf

Ferrymead

Whether you’re looking for a lighthearted game or wanting to fuel your competitive side, the courses at Ferrymead Golf are both challenging and fun. In addition to mini golf, Ferrymead Golf has a driving range, golf course and paintball onsite. For snacks and meals, head to their cafe for the ultimate comfort foods. Known for their vast array of packages, it’s the best spot in town for functions of all kinds. From stag dos to Christmas parties and family gatherings, you’re sure to have an awesome outing.

McDuff’s

Yaldhurst

McDuff's is an 18-hole mini golf course embraces all things Scottish. Get ready for plenty of unexpected surprises including bagpipes, long drops, castles and potentially even a Loch Ness monster sighting. Part of the Riccarton Golf Complex, there’s also a driving range and golf coaching available. There isn’t a restaurant on site but head to nearby Little Thai Kitchen or Waffle Mania afterwards for a feast.

Volcano Park Mini Golf

Ferrymead

You’ll feel as though you’ve landed in Hawaii while playing an 18-hole round at this volcanic themed course. Filled with obstacles like waterfalls, ramps, hills and ponds on your quest for the elusive hole in one. Part of the Ferrymead Golf, your ball will go through an old shed, entombed in a volcanic mountain, up a hill, over a pond and through multiple ramps. Luckily, after you’ve worked up quite the appetite, there’s a cafe and bar on site.
