Pretty, pink and practically perfect in every way, a new pizza joint has landed in Kingsland and we couldn’t be more excited!
Meet UMU Pizza, the pizzeria you didn’t know you needed. Found on Kingsland’s bustling main strip, just think pink and follow the glorious smell of fresh pizza. Brought to us by Simon Murphy, a step inside will have you face to face with an epic wood-fire oven and surrounded by a trendy pastel colour scheme featuring a neon slice.
‘We keeping things fun, light and bright,” says Simon. “Our main focus is the quality of each pizza”.
Staying true to his word, each pizza is packed with local and free-farmed ingredients and feature a sourdough base that will knock your socks off.
A lengthy fermentation process results in a moreish puffy base. With a menu starring eight legendary pizzas, you’ll find the choice tough between a range of scrumptious toppings.
Simon’s top pick is the seven. UMU’s own spin on a classic, this bad boy features their irresistible tomato based, mozzarella, chilli flakes, pickled vegetables and a smokey goan chorizo that will blow your mind.
Or, opt for the six. Featuring a harissa base, merguez (a.k.a. Italian lamb sausage), feta, herb yoghurt and dukkah this gem is not one to miss. What goes better with a fresh hot pizza than an ice cold beer? Stocking Urbanaut, Brothers Beer, and Garage Project you’ll find yourself spoilt for choice between a stellar range of local legends.
Opening up this Saturday, round up the squad and head on down for a tase of some of the best slices in town!
