Dreamworld Is Dropping Nearly $20 Million On A New Family Adventure Ride
Dreamworld’s transformation isn’t slowing down, with the Gold Coast theme park revealing the first look at its next major attraction—a near $20 million family adventure opening in late 2027.
Dubbed Lost Mine Mayhem, the new ride will completely reinvent a much-loved family attraction, introducing a fresh storyline, brand-new ATV-style ride vehicles and the immersive theming that has become a major focus of Dreamworld’s recent additions.
Set on the fringes of Rivertown, the adventure will send riders deep beneath the valley in search of a recently rediscovered underground gold store. Along the way, guests will navigate ancient chambers and hidden passages while racing to uncover the secrets of the mine before a group of treasure raiders beats them to it.
Inspired by classic treasure-hunting adventures, Lost Mine Mayhem is designed as an experience the whole family can tackle together, while expanding the story and world established with Rivertown.
The attraction follows a major run of investment at Dreamworld, including Kenny and Belinda’s Dreamland, The Dreamworld Flyer, Rivertown and King Claw. Once Lost Mine Mayhem opens, Dreamworld says its investment in new guest experiences over recent years will have reached close to $200 million.
The theme park has even bigger plans in the works, with approval recently granted for a major expansion of its 55-hectare Coomera site, paving the way for a hotel, hospitality and entertainment venues, eco-tourism experiences and residential development.
