Pickleball is the ultimate mashup of racket sports. Think table tennis paddles, badminton courts, a splash of tennis and a bit of squash thrown in for good measure. In 2025, it's the resurgence of pickleball Gold Coast locals are dusting off their rackets for. So, I decided to dive in and see what all the hype is about the new it-sport.
Local clubs and casual tournaments abound, with classes available for those zealous picklers ready to take things to the next level. ICYMI: Gold Coast/Kombumerri Country is home to Australia’s largest pickleball club, so it’s safe to say that the pickleball community is strong here.
With all this buzz, myself and the Urban List team went on a mission to find the best spots on the Gold Coast to get your pickleball fix. Whether you're a total newbie looking to dip a toe in, or have already well and truly caught the pickleball fever, here's your ultimate guide to the best places for your next match of pickleball on the Gold Coast.
KDV Sport
221 Nerang Broadbeach Rd, Carrara QLD 4211
KDV Sport in Carrara is a premier sports facility on the Gold Coast, and lucky for all the picklers out there, it also offers three world-class pickleball courts. Bordered by street art style mural and with a thriving community, this place is a real vibe in my opinion. You can hire a court from 530am through to 10pm daily, from $18 per hour during the day and $22 per hour at night.
You can book social plays to meet new people, get coached or even whack a few balls with a mate in fixed pairs. The packed calendar of events 7 days a week makes KDV Sport a top choice for pickleball players looking to start from scratch or hone their skills. Read more.
