Foodies and farm lovers, save the date and loosen your belts. We present to you, an unmissable opportunity to indulge in all the tastiest produce our wonderful regional areas have to offer. With a program filled to the brim with must-eats, must-drinks and must-visits, we just can’t wait to jump in the car and hit the winding country roads to enjoy this year’s Scenic Rim Eat Local Month.

The highly anticipated event is back and bigger than ever this year for their 12th anniversary. Because a week just isn’t long enough, this year the Scenic Rim Eat Local Week has become the Eat Local Month, extending throughout the whole month of June. With 139 paddock-to-plate food experiences on offer, this massive event stretches all the way from Beaudesert to Beechmont, Kerry to Kalbar and Mount Alford to Tamborine Mountain. Think of it as your very own backstage pass to all the best vineyards, breweries, mountaintops and woodfired cafes.

Farm-hopping from gate-to-gate sampling local treats is just one of the many experiences on offer, with 43 workshops and classes there’s something for everyone—you can learn how to roast your own coffee beans, distil spirits or even grow gourmet mushrooms, the opportunities are endless. Pick your own edible flowers and use them to decorate cupcakes at the Elderflower Farm, sip floral gin cocktails in a flower field, tuck into a long table lunch in an olive grove, marvel over a tractor-pulling contest, hang out with cute baby farm animals or feel like the main character as you frolic through the lavender fields.

If you’re in need of a staycation involving some delicious food and unwinding, this is the perfect two birds with one stone opportunity for you to turn your visit into an overnight country getaway at one of the Scenic Rim’s incredible places to stay, which you’ll find right here. Picture those starry nights by the warmth of the fireplace and a glass of quality red wine in hand, just a short drive from the city. They don’t call it the Scenic Rim for nothing—winter sunsets just hit different over a paddock or up on a plateau.

Finishing it off with a bang, the iconic Winter Harvest Festival is the finale event on Saturday 1 July with over 70 market stalls to wander through and explore all the best produce in one place with live music, kids rides and cooking classes. Honestly, we’d be here all day if we were to tell you everything happening, so just head for the Eat Local Month website to scope out the entire calendar, and snap up some tickets before they sell out.
