Sea, sand and fireworks. Name a more iconic trio. Seafire is returning to the Gold Coast in 2026 to light up our skies for its fifteenth year. This shining event in our calendar pulls crowds of nearly 100,000 people. So you'll want a prime plan to nab the best pozzie and lap up the world-class firework show.

This is the Gold Coast's signature firework competition, and it's genuinely breathtaking. To one side you've got the towering cityscape, to the other is the South Pacific Ocean. Look up, and the sky ignites into a full-blown theatre of colour and fizzing twinkles that burst to life. It's an experience everyone has to head along to at least once, in my opinion.

So here's exactly where to go, what to know and the best places to see Seafire in 2026 on the Gold Coast/Kombumerri Country.

Seafire 2026 At A Glance

When is Seafire?

Saturday 20 June 2026 is when Seafire kicks off. Ask anyone, I'm a firm believer that the winter months on the Gold Coast are the very best. Clear skies, crisp air, a reason to pull out our decorative puffer jackets. A beaut clear forecast predicts there'll be a low of 11 degrees celcius, and a high of 21, according to Accuweather. AKA fresh but totally doable.

Where is Seafire?

Seafire is held on Surfers Paradise's beachfront. More specifically, at the beach infront of the beloved 'Surfers Paradise sign.' If you want to get your bearings straight, the address to plug into maps is 2 The Esplanade, Surfers Paradise

What time is Seafire?

Fireworks begin at 6pm with team Canada up first, followed by team Poland at 7pm and the Australian Finale at 8pm. There's actually an accompanying soundtrack hosted by 102.9 Hot Tomato you can tune into as well. There'll be a whole heap of tracks that interact with what's happening in the sky which takes the event to a whole new level.

How to get to Seafire

There are a few ways to get to Seafire in 2026. For cyclists, public transport travellers and drivers alike. Here are top ways to navigate to Seafire this year, for locals and visitors.

Cycle

Cycling to Seafire is simple, if you're located across the coastline. There's actually a cycle-friendly footpath that stretches north to south, and it's quicker to travel along it than you might think. For example, you can ride from Paradise Point to Seafire in 50 minutes. Or from Burleigh Hill to Seafire in 30 minutes flat.

Tram

Now in it's final testing phase of the Broadbeach to Burleigh stretch of the G:Link tram line, at this stage it looks like the working line will run from Helensvale to Broadbeach. To arrive at Seafire, get off at the Cavill Avenue stop, and walk towards the beach, which is the opposite direction to the Gold Coast Highway. If you're heading the right way, Cotton On will be on your left, and Zambrero will be on your right.

Trams will leave every 10 minutes between 7am and 7pm on the night of Seafire, so it's a top way to beat the traffic and get dropped in the middle of the action. Then, they'll arrive every 15 minutes from 7pm 'til midnight when you're ready to make your way home. Plan your journey here.

You might also like:

Bus

Bus services run right across the Gold Coast and are a perfect public transport option if you're travelling from the west of the Gold Coast Highway and particularly the M1. You no longer need a GoCard to pay for transport and can tap your phone or card as you get onto the bus. Plan your journey here.

Car

Bruce Bishop Carpark is a top choice to park your car if driving to Seafire this year. Parking starts at $5.20 for 0-2 hours and caps at $20 for 4+ hours. It's a short walk up to the main drag, and easy to navigate since it's a sharp left in from the Gold Coast Highway.

Circle on Cavill Shopping Centre is another spot to consider parking. It's below a shopping precinct, and if you spend $10 at any of their stores (except Domino's or Holmes College) you can redeem 2 hours free parking. A post-Seafire churros is basically a non-negotiable so it works out perfectly. It's a short wander up to the festivities.

While there is metred parking around Surfers Paradise, during peak event times streets are often closed so spots are limited. Opt for a carpark listed or park at a tram stop on the outskirts of Surfers and ride the G in.
