It’s raining new venues on the Gold Coast and we’re struggling to keep up. One of the new upcoming additions to the Broadbeach scene is The Vault, a sultry whiskey and tapas place that is hell bent on bringing sexy back to Broadbeach.
Nestled under the Phoenician Resort, the opulent black and glossy interior will boast an art deco feel. Accented with glossy gold, the seven-metre-long bar will act as the centerpiece of the venue, showcasing the premium drink selections on show with more than 75 bottles of whiskey, cognac, and rum. Wowza.
“We wanted to create a contemporary, jazz-era inspired experience that will satisfy the thirst of our patrons whether they lean towards a timeless single malt whiskey or one of our expertly created cocktails,” says The Vault founder Gopal Vadalia.
While swanky, The Vault isn’t set to be overly pretentious, so you can happily sip on craft beer over whiskey or cocktails and, as keen beer drinkers, we very much appreciate that. Live music will also feature on weekends with a mixture of jazz and blues performers, DJs, soloists and duets playing until late.
As far as The Vault’s menu goes, it will showcase a contemporary tapas-style bar menu drawing inspiration from Gopal and his wife Ekta’s travels from homeland India to North Carolina and now Australia. Expect dishes like murgh makhani (aka butter chicken) with pan fried gnocchi, crab rangoon, native saltbush and mountain pepper fried squid and loads more. Colour us intrigued, The Vault.
The Vault Bar And Tapas will have a capacity of 150 people both indoors and outdoors, with front row seating for those wanting to watch bar staff mastering their art, and an alfresco area for those us who want to people watch (hey, it’s not a crime).
