Well, this weekend is absolutely humming with things to do, and most of them involve music (with a side of snacking—this is Urban List, after all). From nights of electronic beats and live local acts to silent discos on the sand and a ska-filled afternoon, there’s plenty of opportunity for everyone to get their boogie on, and with a long weekend to soak it all up no less.

Get Your Groove On At The Mondrian's Summer Party

If your summer calendar is lacking in pool parties, then Mondrian’s Sounds of Summer: Long Weekender on Friday 23 January is here to change that. Haven Pool Club will morph into an open-air dancefloor, complete with ocean views, Patrón margaritas, delicious bites and an all-day soundtrack of DJ beats.
Headlining is global heavy-hitting duo Solardo, bringing their high-energy music to the coast, backed by a lineup of talented Aussie tastemakers including Kessin, Danni B and Chunky. A Night Of Electronic Music At Miami Marketta
Why not dive head first into the weekend with a night of electronic music and dancing at Miami Marketta? Underground favourite Beltran is touching down this Friday, bringing the infectious house grooves that launched his breakout hit Smack Yo into sets from the world’s biggest DJs.
Fresh off lighting up dance floors from Ibiza to Miami, the Brazilian selector is known for sweaty builds and satisfying drops, making this an event that should definitely wiggle its way into your Friday evening plans.

The Gold Coast’s newest festival, Revolve Festival, is kicking off this Saturday afternoon and it’s shaping up to be a serious dancefloor affair. With international heavyweights like DJ Assault, THELMA and Janis Zielinski sharing the bill with homegrown favourites such as Young Franco and Choomba, you know it’s going to be huge.

Local legends Bootleg Rascal have dropped a new single and are hitting the road to celebrate, with a stop at Miami Marketta. Expect their signature blend of hip hop, reggae, indie-rock and electronica, delivered with the kind of effortlessly cool energy that’s made them a Gold Coast favourite.

Boogie Down At A Carpark Fest At Mo's
Get ready for an afternoon of heavy riffs and high energy at Mo's Desert Clubhouse’s carpark festival. This Saturday, Double Baked is back for its 7th edition, and it’s set to be an absolute doozy.
Boof Heads, Cannabyss, Child, Dad Fight, and many more acts will take the stage, plus there’ll be a cricket challenge, flash tattoos, food trucks and more. Tickets usually race out the door for this one, so grab yours while you can.

Soak Up Some Big Brass Sounds At HOTA

If a night of swinging funk and hip-shaking bass is calling your name, The Big Brass Barbecue is where you’ll want to be this Saturday. Set to bring the sauciest sounds in town to HOTA, the lineup includes Heavy Wax, The Porkers and the always-electric Melbourne Ska Orchestra.
Add food trucks, a proper barbecue and a fully licensed bar, and you’ve got all the ingredients for a seriously good night—just bring your people and grab those tickets.

Round Up Your Crew For Long Weekend Feasting At The Oxley

The Oxley is embracing the long weekend in the best way it knows how—with epic eats, drinks and live music. Across Sunday and Monday, each venue in the precinct is serving up its own long weekend specialty, from bug rolls and meat pie empanadas at Norté and Sueño, marinated chicken and lamb kalamaki, accompanied by greek salad and tzatziki from Mr Spiros Handmade Yiros, fresh seafood from Eska and indulgent gelato specials by Gelato Gemelli.
There’ll also be a sausage sizzle, live music, table tennis tournament, golf simulator, all-day coffee from BSKT, $14 mini steak frites from Moustache and plenty more to graze your way through. Come hungry, stay awhile, and make a proper day (or two) of it at The Oxley.

The Sky Is The Limit At HOTA’s Whimsical New Children's Exhibition

HOTA continues to wow their audience with the Children’s Gallery, and the new iteration ‘Cloudy with a Chance of Art’ is no exhibition. As you may have guessed, the exhibition features a lot of clouds, inviting viewers to look up and explore.
But it’s not just any gallery; this feature invites a playful, hands-on experience to its younger audience. Children can explore the Daydream Zone, play Art Detective or get creative with crafting stations.
