If your ideal Friday involves tacos, free pool and drink deals, then Local's Lunch at Mo's Desert Clubhouse is the place to be. 

Expect $5 tacos, meat tray raffles, food trucks on the deck and completely free pool—so you can back up your chat about being the coast's next champ. This one is bound to be a good time, so get there early to make the most of it.

Party At CLUB HOLLANOV’s Heated Rivalry Appreciation Night

If your playlist still revolves around Heated Rivalry edits and you’ve got a soft spot for 00s and 10s pop bangers, clear your Saturday night. CLUB HOLLANOV is bringing its Heated Rivalry Appreciation Night to the Gold Coast, taking over Miami Marketta for one big, 18+ dancefloor moment.

From 7pm, DJs will be spinning tracks inspired by Heated Rivalry alongside all your favourite throwback hits and pop anthems—so expect high energy, big singalongs and a crowd that fully gets it. There’ll be Heated Rivalry visuals lighting up the space, themed drinks behind the bar, Hollanov masks for the first through the doors, and even a cardboard cutout giveaway for the truly devoted.

Tickets are currently exhausted, but you can jump on the waitlist to be first in line if more are released or a new show is announced. Just note this is an appreciation night celebrating the series on the dancefloor and isn’t officially affiliated. The event may also feature moving and flashing lights, so reach out to organisers if you have any concerns.

Take Your Pup To Dogs On The Green At Broadwater Parklands

If your dog is the main character in your household, clear your calendar. Dogs on the Green is taking over Fisherman’s Lawn at Broadwater Parklands for a tail-wagging community market made for Gold Coast dog lovers—and entry is completely free.

Expect a laid-back day by the water packed with stalls, treats and all things canine. Whether you’re browsing for cute accessories, stocking up on gourmet snacks or just keen to socialise your four-legged mate, this is the kind of wholesome Saturday plan that ticks every box.

Beyond the market vibes, there’s heart behind the event too. Dogs on the Green supports rescue groups at every edition, hosting a raffle with five fantastic prizes up for grabs. Every dollar raised goes directly to a selected rescue organisation, so you can shop (and enter) knowing you’re giving back to pups in need.

Celebrate Lunar New Year At Maggie Choo

Ring in the Year of the Fire Horse with a little spectacle (and a lot of flavour) at Maggie Choo this Saturday 28 February. The all-day celebration peaks at 7:15pm, when a traditional lion dance weaves through the venue, blessing the space and ushering in luck, prosperity and good fortune for the year ahead.

To catch the full experience, you’ll want to be seated before 7:15pm—trust us, it’s worth arriving early for. Every table will receive a red envelope on the night (and yes, everyone’s a winner), with prizes revealed during the celebration. Two lucky guests will also score a $200 Gennari Group dining voucher, so there’s plenty of reason to toast to new beginnings.

On the menu, exclusive Lunar New Year features dial up the indulgence. Think an eight-piece dumpling selection with Moreton Bay bug and chives, Japanese sweet scallop and prawn, chicken and truffle xiao long bao, plus pork, prawn and wombok money bags, served with black vinegar and ginger. There’s also half a Peking duck with all the trimmings, and longevity bug noodles with katsu dashi velouté and ginger shallot salsa—because starting the year hungry is simply not the vibe.

Support Local Artists At Flaming Heart Fest

This Saturday, one-day independant music festival Flaming Heart Fest returns for the fourth year running, taking over Iron & Resin Garage. There's a stacked lineup acts, including rock, alternative and even vinyl DJs: Voiid, The Lonesomes, Fungas, Tomorrow's Forecast and more. 

In between sets, you can browse stalls from a bunch of local creatives. There'll be Tattoos by 365, Badlands Vinyl, Cherub Studios, Victoria Soprano Jewelery and Art by Pupa popping up to keep you occupied.

Rummage Through Pre-Loved Finds At The Gold Coast Vintage Market

The Gold Coast's biggest preloved fashion and vinyl event is popping up once again this Saturday, with over 300 racks of curated vintage finds, and thousands of vinyl records from all over QLD. 

There'll be free redbull for the first hour of the event, food trucks, coffee, vinyl DJs and heaps of giveaways—so you'll be well caffeinated and ready to source some fab, one-of-a-kind pieces. Tickets are just $5 for the morning session, and free after 2pm—although you might find the racks to be picked through by the arvo.

Start Your Sunday With A Coffee Rave At Harbour Town

Forget the hangover—this Sunday is for espresso martinis minus the martini. As part of the weekend festivities at Harbour Town, the AM Social crew is taking over Harbour Town Eats from 8.30am for a full-blown coffee rave to kickstart your morning the right way.

Expect DJs spinning upbeat sets, baristas pouring your caffeine of choice, and a buzzy, social atmosphere that feels more dancefloor than shopping centre. It’s high-energy but wholesome—you can sip, sway and still be home by lunchtime feeling smugly productive.

There’s something about a movie night by the ocean that just hits different. Throughout February and March, Movies on the Esplanade is bringing free, family-friendly flicks to Surfers Paradise—so you can swap the couch for sea breeze and sunset skies.

These relaxed Sunday night screenings are all about easy, wholesome fun—and this weekend, they're screening Kangaroo. Arrive early, grab dinner from one of the nearby restaurants or fast-food spots, then roll out a rug or set up your fold-up chairs and settle in for a feel-good film with the whole crew.

Second Life Markets have finally reached the Gold Coast, after taking the rest of Australia by storm. Taking over Miami Marketta this Sunday, there'll be preloved, up-cycled, Y2K, sustainable, and vintage finds—you'll probably leave with a new wardrobe.

You'll be able to book tickets for sessions throughout the day, with the earliest entry at 10:30am for VIP.

Watch Local Surfers Battle It Out At The World Club Challenge Cup

Coolangatta is turning into a surf arena and culture fest as The World Club Challenge Cup rolls into town. The comp will see top international board riding teams and emerging Aussie stars chasing serious points and bragging rights.

Beyond the waves, expect a lively beachside atmosphere with live music, skate activations and sunrise sessions. Even if you don’t know your cutbacks from your carves, it’s prime spectating territory with a great community energy.
