A New Dance Festival Is Coming To Melbourne In October

A massive dance festival will chassé its way into Melbourne this spring. The one-off event, DanceX, will feature some of the country's most impressive performers and dance companies in a never-before-seen collaboration happening at Arts Centre Melbourne from Thursday, 20, October till Tuesday, 1 November courtesy of The Australian Ballet.

The three-part festival has been curated by The Australian Ballet's Artistic Director, David Hallberg, to showcase the diversity of Australia's incredible dance community. On the mammoth lineup you'll find the likes of Australian Dance Theatre, Queensland Ballet, Karul Projects, Sydney Dance Company, Bangarra Dance Theatre, Chunky Move and heaps more. 

There'll be a variety of dance styles on show including award-winning works, world premieres and captivating performances from three First Nations dance companies. Highlights include Syndey Dance Company's acclaimed show, ab [intra], and Bangarra Dance Company's impressive production, Terrain. In terms of new work, you can expect premieres from both Chunky Move and Lucy Guerin Inc.
