The Best Food To Devour At The Carlton Draught Caulfield Cup Carnival

By

There’s only one place you can find A-listers, festivities, fashion, and food—and that’s the Carlton Draught Caulfield Cup Carnival. This October, the iconic series will kick off Melbourne’s infamous spring racing season and is not to be missed.

We all know and love the classic race-day outing, but the food on offer at this year’s Carlton Draught Caulfield Cup Carnival has stepped the whole affair up another level. From The Field to The Avenue, the eats on offer are reaching new heights. Here’s the best food at this year’s Carlton Draught Caulfield Cup Carnival.

The Avenue

If you're looking for unrivaled food and entertainment experiences laden with luxury — The Avenue is where you want to be. Whether it's sipping on Yarra Valley's finest, live jazz entertainment or bottomless Moët & Chandon, there's an experience for every kind of luxe racegoer.

St. Huberts

If St. Huberts is a name that should be familiar to you—they probably make one of your fave wines. This year, St. Hubert’s is bringing everything they know and love straight from the Yarra Valley to Caulfield to showcase incredible local produce in a reimagined dining format. Think all-day roaming canapés with a premium drinks package, and then a seated shared menu featuring Yarra Valley’s finest. While the tickets are on the exxier side, the luxe trimmings are worth every penny. Your ticket will include:

- Seated lunch featuring an exquisite culinary experience with produce and wine sourced directly from the Yarra Valley
- All-day roaming canapes
- Custom premium beverage package
- Unparalleled trackside views

Bar Aperitivo

Fresh on the scene at The Avenue, Bar Aperitivo is The Carlton Draught Caulfield Cup Carnival’s answer to old-world glamour meets new-world sophistication. Signature cocktails pair with an all-inclusive gourmet grazing menu, live jazz performances, and exclusive trackside views—you just can’t help to dial up the fancy.

Champagne House presented by Moët & Chandon

You see Moët & Chandon and you just know you're in for luxury. Free-flowing Moët & Chandon bubbles and a spectacular grazing menu keep the fun going all day long, right up until the big race, for which you have unparalleled trackside viewing. You can secure your tickets here

The Field

No matter where you are on course, be sure to visit The Field where you can get up close and personal with a larger-than-life Caulfield Cup. Here, you can explore the Carlton Draught Beer Garden and Gordon’s Polo Club, with a line-up of Melbourne’s best DJs and bands, and a selection of mouth-watering food trucks, the Field has it all. Curated exclusively for general admission ticketholders.

Mary And A Little Lamb

Score a general admission ticket to be well and truly sorted on the snack front all day. Have you been cruising around Brunswick and gotten hooked by the delicious smells of an unsuspecting truck? Okay, so the truck’s blue with a massive logo on it. Still, this is the Mary And A Little Lamb effect. This is a regular occurance at the other events these legends pop-up at—with masses flock to get their hands on some of Melbourne’s best-cooked lamb. Think: the best gyros you’ve ever had, but more tender, fresh, and flavourful.

Pinchy’s

Now, if you're anything like us, you know and love Pinchy's. In a stroke of genius, the Melbourne-food-scene-royalty will set up shop at this year's Carlton Draught Caulfield Cup Carnival on both The Field and the member's level. Expect traditional Maine-style prawn and lobster rolls in their signature buttery and crunchy long rolls.

Burn City Smokers

Sometimes you just need a hearty feed to recoup and satiate during a big day at the races, so to do just that look no further than Burn City Smokers. Specialising in BBQ meats, you'll likely smell these guys before you see them with their delicious BBQ smoke sure to be wafting through the Caulfield grounds. Upon sniffing them out, make sure to order up a storm of smoked chicken wings, pork belly and brisket teamed with a whole bunch of delicious sides like mac n cheese, fries and herby slaw. Our rec? Wash it down with the perfect cocktail from The Gordon's Polo Club or the classic crispness of an icy freshly tapped Carlton Draught from the Carlton Draught Beer Garden.

Taco Nachos

If there's one thing that's going to both get the party started and keep it going, it's Mexican food in its optimal form: from a taco truck. Head to Taco Nachos on The Field for just this, plus other Mexican bangers like nachos and burritos. Seriously cannot go wrong.

Neds Level

Right in the middle of the track, Neds Level is getting down a little differently. Each ticket comes with an all-inclusive food truck and drinks package, beyond prime viewing from a marquee and exclusive live entertainment. Plus, there will be a competition running on the day for punters to go in the running to score a Neds Level experience, where you’ll be able to watch a race from the choice viewing platform located within the precinct.

Whether it's fancy feeds you crave or casual (and insanely delicious) food truck morsels — there's something for every foodie at this year's Carlton Draught Caulfield Cup Carnival — coming this October. To secure your tickets, click here.
