9 Reasons This Is The Best Foodie Playground In Melbourne’s West

By

If you haven’t already treated your tastebuds to the fabulous foodie mecca that is Highpoint, trust us— there's more than just shopping to feast on. Whilst the centre is known for its impressive selection of fashion brands and entertainment venues (the crew at Highpoint agree—you’re never too old for TimeZone), the eateries on offer are chasing Highpoint's retailers for cult status.

With over 450 stores spanning three levels, exploring Highpoint can be a foodie's dream. There is something for every taste, no matter where you end up. Don’t know where to start? We got ‘chu—these are our top picks for the best eateries to hit Melbourne’s ultimate foodie playground.

Pepper Lunch

Pepper Lunch is a staple of the Melbourne lunch scene and it has just arrived to Highpoint. It goes without saying that the key ingredient in all of their dishes has to be pepper, but there’s no need to get salty about it — you can still take your pick from loads of killer flavour combos. Go on and give it a go.

Cakes By Max

The legend who is Max Brenner has just opened their first-ever Cakes by Max concept store. Located on Level 2 in The Atrium, here you can take a load off and treat yourself to a  smooth coffee and one of their Instagram-worthy cakes (or Easter treats!). Be warned, it will be hard to stop at just one.

Graina

Prefer to buy in bulk? Stock up on quality whole foods courtesy of the crew at Graina. Their stunning Highpoint digs make getting groceries a million times more enjoyable, with the store’s sustainable shopping practices only adding to the experience. Fill your own jars and containers with as much product as you please, then head to the counter to weigh your goodies so you’re only charged for what you need. Sustainable and practical? That’s a yes from us.

Gourmet Deli House

Local deli retailer Gourmet Deli House has set up shop in Melbourne’s west, and our taste buds are living for it. We’re talking hand-crafted gourmet pastas, house marinated olives, and enough imported prosciutto to fill your picnic platter needs for at least the next 12 months. And to think we haven’t even covered the cheese yet—whether it’s creamy, smoky, salty, or nutty, you name it, they stock it. Just thinking about it has our stomachs rumbling…

Cookie Dough Co.

As if you see the words Cookie Dough Co. and need further encouragement. This New York-style dessert pop-up store has taken Melbourne by storm, crafting delicious loaded cookies in just about every flavour under the sun—and then some. Think Caramilk white chocolate, Lotus biscoff, Bueno surprise, and more than 20 other drool-worthy concoctions. Trust us—one bite and you’ll be hooked.

Sushi Sushi Train

Sushi fiends rejoice because tucked away on Level 2 in The Atrium Food Court, is the fun and aesthetically pleasing Sushi Sushi Train. Enjoy endless fresh sushi from hand rolls to nigiri, uramaki and even spicy popcorn prawn sliders. A certified delicious time for all.

Ajisen Ramen

Any Melburnian who shares our obsession with all things Japanese (especially the cuisine) is no doubt already a regular at Ajisen Ramen. Located on Level 1, the eatery is treating hungry Highpoint shoppers to authentic entrees, Donburi and bento boxes guaranteed to get you drooling. We recommend the ebi gyoza paired with a serve of sesame oil for a touch of tang.

Master Lanzhou

Craving slow food, served fast? Look no further than Master Lanzhou, our go-to for authentic Chinese that doesn’t break the bank. Their house-made noodles and delicious beef broth draw inspiration from China’s northwest, infusing flavours typically found in the Lanzhou region. Our top pick? Treat yourself to their signature braised beef noodle soup, and be sure to thank us later.

Godiva

What’s known as the world’s most indulgent gourmet chocolate store has arrived at Highpoint, and boy, are we hyped! With a 96 year tenure in the artisan chocolate game, Godiva has well and truly mastered their craft, earning a loyal following of chocoholics obsessed with the brand’s creamy textures and rich flavours. Find them opposite the brand new Rebel on Level 3.

Can’t get enough of Highpoint’s incredible eateries? We don’t blame you. Check out their full range of drool-worthy eats by visiting their site, or better yet, bite the bullet and scope it out in person. Your tastebuds will thank you.
