The Best Hotels In Hong Kong (2025 Edition)

Written by:
Madeline Wallman

As much as I genuinely enjoy staying in quaint little shacks in sleepy towns, it's the big city hotel stays that are always the highlight of my trips. The crisp white sheets, king-sized beds, room service on demand and those stellar vistas from sky-high suites... there’s something irresistible about that kind of luxury.

After hours of researching, I've come to the conclusion that nowhere does hotel chic quite like Hong Kong. This city’s hotel game is on another level: think jaw-dropping views, Michelin-star menus and spas that feel like mini-vacations all on their own.

Whether you’re after luxe lounges or just a sweet spot to crash after a day of wandering, I’ve rounded up the 13 best hotels to stay in Hong Kong this year. Consider this your official permission slip to splurge and book that room with a view.

Rosewood

Victoria Dockside, 18 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon

Rosewood Hotel Hong KongImage credit: Rosewood | Website

Nestled in the iconic Victoria Dockside district and consistently included within the top of The World's 50 Best Hotels, Rosewood Hong Kong is the definition of modern luxury. There's understated opulence in the interiors, and bathrooms so marble-clad and mirror-lined they feel like their own private spa.

While I’d usually be all about the rooftop drinks, here I’d probably spend more time unwinding than partying, diving into a treatment (or three) at Asaya, their in-house wellness sanctuary, before gliding downstairs to The Legacy House for Michelin-starred Cantonese that’s as elegant as the space itself. Safe to say this one’s bookmarked for my very next big life moment.

The Ritz-Carlton

International Commerce Centre, 1 Austin Road West, Kowloon

I don’t have a fear of heights, but staying at the world’s tallest hotel might just test that theory. Sitting way up in the clouds, The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong is all drama and decadence, with front-row views of Victoria Harbour from just about everywhere.

At 490 metres above sea level, you can soak in the skyline from the hotel’s rooftop bar OZONE, where cocktails and sweeping vistas set the scene for a seriously glamorous night out. Inside, it’s plush in that classic Ritz-Carlton way—velvety textures, a big cloud-like bed and a warm, tonal palette that oozes opulence.

If I were dining in, it’d be Tosca di Angelo for sure—Michelin-starred Italian with floor-to-ceiling views and the kind of dishes that you’ll daydream about long after checkout.

The Peninsula

Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon

The Peninsula Hotel Hong KongImage credit: The Peninsula Hotel | Website

I’m a sucker for a hotel with history, and The Peninsula Hong Kong has it in spades. Dubbed the “Grande Dame of the Far East,” this iconic Kowloon landmark has been setting the standard since it first opened its doors in 1928.

Its soaring neoclassical columns, vintage Rolls-Royces, and bellboys in crisp white uniforms evoke a timeless old-world glamour. There’s often a string quartet playing in the lobby and the harbour-view pool is a standout, but it’s the service that truly seals the deal. With the highest staff-to-guest ratio in the city, you’re looked after before you even realise you need anything

Culinary lovers will be spoilt for choice with the hotel’s award-winning restaurants, including Spring Moon, famed for authentic Cantonese cuisine served in an elegant setting. When it’s time to unwind, The Peninsula Spa offers holistic treatments designed to soothe both body and mind—a perfect escape from the city’s hustle.

The Upper House

Pacific Place, 88 Queensway, Admiralty

The Upper House Hong KongImage credit: The Upper House | Website

Perched atop the prestigious Pacific Place complex, The Upper House offers a peaceful retreat from the bustling city below. Minimalist design with soft textures and open spaces frames sweeping views of Hong Kong’s harbour and skyline. Whether unwinding with a thoughtfully crafted cocktail or watching dusk settle over the city from your floor-to-ceiling window, the calm here is palpable.

Wellness is clearly a priority here. I’d be jumping into the complimentary yoga classes to reset my mind after a day of walking around the city, or hit the 24-hour gym whenever the mood strikes. The option for in-room Bamford treatments is like the cherry on top. It's the little touches that make all the difference between a regular hotel stay and a genuine recharge.

Step into a world of timeless elegance at The Langham Hong Kong. Nestled in the heart of lively Tsim Sha Tsui, surrounded by some of the world’s most luxurious retail brands, you’ll be blown away before you even make it to your room. The lobby’s marble floors, dangling chandeliers and soaring ceilings set the tone for a stay steeped in classic sophistication.

For food lovers, T’ang Court is a serious highlight. Its three Michelin stars are well-deserved, serving Cantonese dishes that strike the perfect balance between authenticity and finesse. On the other end of the spectrum, Palm Court’s English afternoon teas offer delectable pastries and expertly brewed teas, served with the kind of refined grace synonymous with The Langham experience.

If I were staying here, I’d make it my mission to experience both—the heritage charm of the tea service and the culinary mastery of the fine dining, making the most of The Langham’s blend of old-school grandeur and modern comfort.
