The Brooklyn Block Party Down Section 8’s Tattersalls Lane Is Back For A Thumper 13-Hour Session

By

People partying in a laneway at block party. Vines hang off a powerline.

Almost as iconic as the venue it’s housed within, The Brooklyn Block Party is returning for a fifth year for a thumper 13-hour party at Section 8 and the cherished—often beer-soaked—Tattersalls Lane.

The marathon soiree at Melbourne’s cherished laneway bar comes as part of Good Beer Week with backing from The Brooklyn Brewery, and as per, the trio have one helluva day planned. Heading up the bill is producer + emcee duo Man Made Mountain alongside Chicago-born DJ Muthafunk and Indigenous performance group, Culture Evolves.

Meanwhile, upstairs at Ferdedurke, the team are set to celebrate Brooklyn to Queens, an all-femme line-up led by Pookie and Savage the Girl.

As always with the Brooklyn Block Party, music is just one part of the package. Expect Tatt’s Lane to be illuminated by projection artists Simbiotic.Vision along with a vintage sportswear store courtesy of Fresh Flames earlier in the day.

And yes, you’d be remiss to think there wouldn’t be beer, and lots of it. Expect plenty from the gang at Brooklyn Brewery, and do your best to get there early because they’ll be sampling unreleased brews you’ll likely only be able to try this Saturday.

Entry is absolutely free.
