Fed Square illuminated at night.

This week got you feeling less zen than usual? This joyous celebration of Buddha’s birthday at Federation Square is sure to brighten your weekend up.

From this Friday onwards, this three-day festival aims to spread a message of hope and love with a breathtaking display of lights sprawling all over walls and walkways. Sally Capp, the lord Mayor of Melbourne, will kick off things with the Light It Up Ceremony, starting the array of an impressive lineup of events.

You’ll get the chance to experience traditional Buddhist ceremonies, such as world peace prayers, incense burning and blessing ceremonies/ There’ll also be Lion dances presented by The Chinese Youth Society of Melbourne and songs performed from the Melbourne Mass Gospel Choir

Dance your way through this festival with the multiple K-pop performances scattered throughout and leave some room for Kstar Evolutionz, a hip hop dance troupe guaranteed to entertain.

Presented by the Buddha’s Light International Association in collaboration with Fo Guag Shan Melbourne, this free festival is sure to help you find your inner-peace while giving you realigning your vibes. Check out the festival schedule here.
