Brush Up On Your Hosting Skills With This Retro-Inspired Workshop

By Caitlin Booth

There’s a very particular satisfaction that comes with playing host to your nearest and dearest, and we’re always on the lookout for tasty tips to help you create an experience to remember. Whether it’s finding the perfect plates to complement a home-cooked meal, or easy and enticing nibbles to satiate tingling tastebuds, we’re always on the lookout for the elements that make for a unique night in.

Choosing the right wine selection to do your culinary efforts justice is one way to really make your meals sing—and to guarantee your guests will be singing your praises for many meals to come. As luck would have it, CHANDON has the perfect opportunity to brush up on your pairing skills and add some retro snacks to your repertoire.

In celebration of CHANDON’s Winemaker Explorations Range and its two newly released sparkling wines, the Yarra Valley winery is hosting a series of artistic and interactive workshops alongside some of Melbourne’s most impressive creatives including entertaining expert, Clementine Day. To add a delightful fizz on top of this tantalising series, they’re giving you and three friends the chance to score the experience for free.

Easy Entertaining with Clementine Day, taking place on Saturday, 25 and Sunday, 26 June, is a demonstration-style workshop that will offer a stack of tips to simplify your approach to entertaining, bring all the best bits of hosting to the forefront and teach you a stack of wine-pairing know-how to brag about.

Inspired by CHANDON's curiosity and desire to explore, Clem is flipping her usual processes on their head, demonstrating her craft in a way that draws inspiration from curiosity and innovation.

As a self-taught foodie, Clementine appreciates the art of simplicity and will bring an innovative touch to retro-inspired, and approachable finger foods (for hosts and guests alike). Clem will guide guests through how to make the perfect deviled egg, nail prosciutto-wrapped melon and feta, and fine-tune an olive, pickled chilli and anchovy skewer.

As if a gamut of retro treats isn’t inspiration enough, you’ll also enjoy shared plates of easy, entertaining inspired foods, as well as a guided tasting of the Winemaker Explorations Range. To really pull off the role as host with the most at your next ‘do, treat yourself to a couple of bottles of CHANDON’s new range to take home alongside the know-how from Clem’s demonstration and share your newfound knowledge of how each component pairs with the sparkling wines.
