Chin Chin Is Throwing A Massive Birthday Party, And They’re Putting On A Secret Menu To Celebrate

It’s been a decade since Chin Chin and its iconic neon-lit bunny landed in Flinders lane. Since then it ushered in a new standard for CBD eateries and rode the wave of Melbourne’s dining boom establishing itself as one of the key spots for dining in the city. To celebrate the ten years since it opened its doors Chin Chin is throwing one hell of a party, stretching over a whole month the restaurant will play host to a range of different dining experiences and events that celebrate the signature Chin Chin approach to South-East Asian cuisine.

Prepare yourselves Chin Chin’s anniversary festivities are not to be missed, taking over the month of May there’s something for all diners past and future. 

Chilli Inferno

Can’t handle the heat? Probably best to give this one a skip then. This unique dining experience is focusing on the spice and chilli aspects of Chin Chin dining, really dialing things up heat wise. Experimenting with a mixture of different chilli varieties into crowd favourites such as Dry Red Curry, Crispy Pork Belly, and Seafood Pad Khaprao this sensory elevating event is a sure fire strategy for a hot night.

The Garden of Eatin’ 

This is perfect for those wanting to keep it natural with a plant friendly exploration into South East Asian cuisine. The night will feature a ‘Feed Me’ style menu that puts a focus on the pairing of fragrant herbs and spices with plant ingredients to create sensational dishes such as Northern Style Mushroom Laab and Roasted Long Green Eggplant with Stir-Fried For Tofu.
Just in case that wasn’t enough guests will also take home a DIY mushroom growing kit from the folks at Fable Food Co, with custom Chin Chin recipes.

Coopers Dream Dinner

Benjamin Cooper, the iconic chef at the helm of Chin Chin has created this illuminating journey into his mind with a mixture of innovative and exploratory dishes that have never made it to the regular Chin Chin menu. Famous for his devotion to South East Asian cuisine, expect a menu crafted with a mixture of intricate flavours and passion-driven dishes.

The Birthday Party

If you’re in it for the good times then this one's for you, this single night blow out will be a decade-defining celebration of Chin Chin. This will be a true cultural experience with local artists, avant-guard performers, and resident PBS radio aficionado Miss Goldie providing the musical backdrop. There’ll be plenty of Chin Chin favourites stacked at the food stations as well as a curated list of cocktails for the night. Party on Wayne.
