With 50+ restaurants across the globe, it’s fair to say that the Canadian-born, entirely plant-based Copper Branch is doing something right. And in a matter of days, Melburnians can tuck into their plant-progressive menu.
Since opening its first locale around a decade ago, Copper Branch’s mission has been to serve quality whole foods to their community, while offering them an opportunity to make a difference via what’s on their plate—and in 2023, that mission remains the same.
You’ll see this in the entirety of what’s on offer. There are no deep fryers or grill in sight, and instead, the team focus on clean cooking methods only. Just take the Smoked Tempeh Sub, stacked with marinated organic tempeh, sweet potato, vegan cheese and tomato; or perhaps one of their power bowls, which come loaded with your choice of base and protein.
Much of what's on offer is reminiscent of the OG menu in Canada, though there are several local spins up for grabs, too. Australian-style sandwiches and 'meatball' subs take centre stage and will be available all day long.
You can have plenty of fun with the menu at Copper Branch, too. Oven-baked nachos, chili cheese fries, and poutine fries—all entirely vegan—are up for ordering alongside the likes of those power bowls, salads and subs.
Those partial to something sweet have also been looked after with the likes of a light and fluffy cinnamon bun, which, thanks to its organic and plant-based ingredients, has a texture that sits somewhere between a bun and a croissant.
Copper Branch’s first location is set to open Monday 6 February on the corner of Smith Street and Johnston Street in Collingwood, from 7am until 10pm. More branches are set to open around the country later in the year.
