The Mornington Peninsula’s over 150-year-old institution, Hotel Sorrento, is welcoming in summer with a new era of luxury. Emerging out of its biggest transformation to date, the establishment exhibits a 30-metre pool, day spa and wellness facilities, and 13 new accommodation suites—from the minds of Six Degrees Architecture and Jack Merlo landscape architects.
The all-new Sunset Suites live up to their title—guests can look out over the coast and estate through the sweeping windows or while they unwind in the private outdoor marble baths. Decked out with custom-designed Jardan furniture and Hunter Lab amenities, these modern suites are the ultimate luxury escape.
With details of limestone, travertine and timber, the 1872 buildings' architecture has been both honoured and elevated. The original suites have been refurbished to fit into Hotel Sorrento’s evolution into a coastal resort. Kicking back on the custom-made Grazia sun lounges, guests will take in the pool terrace, reminiscent of the Mediterranean coast, with mineral walls, and olive trees scattered throughout.
A Japanese-inspired courtyard forms a path to the hidden retreat of Marlo Spa—offering bespoke Ayurvedic treatments for all needs, including massages and fire and ice therapies.
With Rob and Anne Pitt and their children—Bridget, Myles and Marcus—at the helm, the third-generation family empire showcases five separate bars, two restaurants, private dining areas and conference facilities.
Launching in December 2023, bookings are now available here.
