An Ikea Concept Store—Unlike Anything Australians Have Seen—Is Officially Open In Melbourne

By

There’s nothing quite like a trip to Ikea. It’s a labyrinth of showrooms and furniture, and it’s not hard to find yourself spending hours and hours in the store, following the guiding arrows on the floor with a desperation that it will lead you to the ideal fittings that you didn’t even know was missing till you came across it.

The plethora of options can be overwhelming though, so IKEA has done what IKEA does best; offered a practical solution. The Plan and Order Point is a concept store that does exactly what it says on the tin; you can plan out your dream home with advice from the staff, and order it on the spot. No muss, no fuss, just furnishings.

The Plan and Order Point store is nothing like the maze of the original; instead, it’s comparatively a micro-store at only 350m2. If you’ve ever been in the situation of standing around and hoping to spot a team member so you can ask them a question, fear not, as the Plan and Order Point is completely focused on offering one-to-one sessions for every customer to help you build your ideal abode. There are still displays to browse so possible inspiration is never far away, and you can even pre-book your appointment with the planning team.

Launching in Highpoint Shopping Centre, this Plan and Order Point isn’t the first of its kind. IKEA has launched locations across the globe, but never before in Australia.

The focal point will be on more complex interior design spaces, like kitchens and wardrobes. It’s more personalised than a regular IKEA trip, so if you’re serious about creating your ideal living space, the Plan and Order Point is where you want to be.
