Meet the Melbourne Jewellery Label Redefining Sentimental Style—One Handmade Piece at a Time

By

What began in 2013 as a mother-daughter passion project has blossomed into Linden Cook Jewellery—a beloved Fitzroy institution where heirlooms are handmade and every piece carries a story.

Founded by jeweller Linden Cook and her daughter Georgie Amad, the label has grown from a Coburg warehouse into a sunlit Gertrude Street flagship, where artisans craft timeless treasures right before your eyes.

“Seeing people interact with the pieces in store is really heartwarming,” Georgie says when asked how they are settling into the new store. Working mostly with recycled materials wherever possible and operating on a made-to-order basis, Linden Cook Jewellery takes a thoughtful approach to both design and production. The designs are classic pieces with an everlasting style in mind so they’re eternally fashionable, leaning into that environmental philosophy.

Georgie says her inspiration comes from many places, but family is at the core of her inspiration. Her Alblas Rakweh charm is a replica of the coffee pot her Sitto (that’s a Lebanese grandma)  brought with her when she came to Australia decades ago.

Likewise, sentimentality plays a big part in her creations. One of Georgie’s most popular lines, the Signature Impression range, came to be after the birth of one of her children. Her family had the baby’s fingerprint cast and imprinted in jewellery to commemorate. The piece had such an emotional impact on Georgie that she wanted to be able to share this special idea with her customers  as well.

She says now the keepsakes are one of her most popular offerings, with many people taking a wax mold of their child, grandparent or loved one's fingerprint and turning it into a forever pendant. And the Impression range isn’t just for humans, with plenty of pet parents getting on board for their fur babies. “Lots of people bring in their dogs for a nose or paw impression, but we’ve also had someone bring in a cat,” she laughs.

From the moment you step into the new store, you'll be warmly welcomed by a friendly team who are all about making your experience feel personalised and relaxed.
