Malthouse Comedy is officially hitting double digits, and they’ve lined up an anniversary program that’s as wild, witty and unpredictable as a late-night comedy festival crowd.

Running from 26 March to 19 April, the season brings together some of the country’s sharpest and strangest minds—with Hannah GadsbyLou WallRob CarltonGarry Starr and Elf Lyons—alongside fresh favourites and rising stars.

This year, Zachary Ruane (Aunty Donna) finally drops his first solo show, Comedy, which he’s casually calling “the most important comedic work of the 21st century.” Meanwhile, cult duo Hot Department return with amalgamation, a collection of new and unhinged sketches that promise to be campier than ever.

The lineup also features Kate Dolan’s absurdist hour Trout, Gabbi Bolt’s brilliantly biting Small Poppy, the apocalyptic two-hander BIRDS from Alex Hines and Sarah Stafford and a new character show from Hannah Camilleri (Dinner Hannah Show).

And in what promises to be a night of big laughs and even bigger heart, Reuben Kaye will host a special tribute to beloved comedian and activist Stella Young, raising funds for the upcoming documentary Stella: I Am Not Your Inspiration.

Ten years in, Malthouse Comedy is still the weird, wonderful and fiercely funny heart of Melbourne’s comedy scene. Grab a drink in the courtyard and settle in—this one’s going to be special.

Tickets are on sale now.

Malthouse Comedy will run from 26 March to 19 April at The Malthouse, 113 Sturt Street, Southbank.
