Attention dog lovers: Today is officially “Dog Day” and we’ve found all the best spots in Melbourne for you chill out over a crafty pint and a Parma with all your mates, and yes of course, that includes your furry four-legged wingman.  Stop by any of these dog-friendly bars next time you and your buddy are out for a jaunt.

Two Row Bar

Fitzroy

Two Row Bar is a small hub that showcases exclusive beer, wine, and spirits from all around the globe. Luckily the owners at Two Row are just as passionate about dogs as they are about quirky, craft brews. This Fitzroy venue is an oasis for both you and your pup! You’ll love sipping on a crafty pint and munching on a delicious grilled cheese sandwich, whilst your four-legged pal lounges around beside you. If you’re not totally convinced one of our favorite Instagram dogs, Alfie the Schnauzer gives this place two paws up!

Madame Brussels

CBD

Why not enjoy a cocktail and a cupcake with your pooch at Madame Brussels? Your puppy will love rolling around on the astro turf and is bound to get extra special attention (and doggie treats) from the charming, flirty waiters. This eccentric garden party is the stuff of fairy tales and offers one of the best views in Melbourne. Provided your pet is well-behaved it is the perfect spot for your next Mama and pooch date.

The Great Northern Hotel

North Fitzroy

The Great Northern Hotel boasts a big beer garden with plenty of space for your furry friends. This outdoor space is the perfect spot for Sunday sippers and even has an outdoor screen so you can watch the footy. The Great Northern’s menu also offers plenty of craft beer and quality pub meals. If you haven’t got a buddy to share it with, The Great Northern Hotel hosts an occasional adoption day for Creatures great and small where you’ll be bound to find your next wingman!

The Rainbow Hotel

Fitzroy

There’s always something on at the rainbow for you and your pup to enjoy. Furry friends love hanging out in the beer garden and soaking up the sunshine with Twitch, the owner’s dog. The Rainbow Hotel staff will even match your beverage to your food! There’s a pool table in the beer garden too if you think your four-legged friend is up for the challenge?

The Palace Hotel

South Melbourne

This South Melbourne Hotel is the perfect venue for a doggy date. Your pooch will love chilling with the resident pooch, Billy the Staffy, and lounging in its cracking beer garden. Knock back a few pints, watch the footy and watch your pup join in the doggy fun. If you don’t have a four-legged friend, Billy loves scoring pats and cuddles from visitors.

The Yarra Hotel

Abbottsford

This backstreet pub is all about having a good time. And what better way to have a good time than with your favorite furry pal? You’ll both enjoy soaking up the sun in the spacious beer garden. The Yarra has live music throughout the week and even does the occasional al fresco gig, where you and your pup will have the best seats in the house!

Republica

St Kilda

The beach-side courtyard at Republica is the perfect spot to chill out with a cocktail and your pup. Relax in a hanging hammock chair whilst listening to live music and watch other furry friend’s frolic in the sand. Republica also boasts a huge menu with great seafood and pizza. It is a delightful place to hang out with your pooch on a lazy Sunday, or to wind down after a walk along the boardwalk.

Railway Hotel

South Melbourne

This quintessential Melbourne pub has a large outdoor area that’s ready and waiting for you to fill it with your four-legged friends. Select a pint from an expansive range of craft beers and enjoy all your pub-grub favorites whilst your pup socializes at the water bowls. Take a spot by the outdoor screen so you and your pooch don’t miss out on any footy scores!

College Lawn Hotel

Prahran

College Lawn Hotel boasts two levels of outdoor areas for both you and your dog. If the cold is stopping you from enjoying a Sunday doggy date there’s no need to worry! The Lawn has plenty of outdoor heaters to keep your pup and you extra toasty. Try a Thursday jaunt at the lawn to enjoy a $15 Parma. This Prahran bar is a popular hangout for some very cute and furry friends.
