Exploring your local neighbourhood, going to all your favourite beaches, sipping your favourite brews and enjoying lunch at your favourite spot is what life's all about. What could make it even better? Doing it all in a kit tailor-made for urban explorers.
The good news is National Geographic has launched a range of clothing that is ideal for exploring. To put the threads to the test, our Deputy Editor, Simon Cassar, shares his favourite ways to explore his local area on Mornington Peninsula.
Morning Surf And Swim
9am
We're kicking off with a quick surf and swim this morning. I've got Leo in the car and because the swell is tiny I've got the foam board packed right next to him. I'll head out and quickly nab a couple and then run to the car and dive back into the water with him.
Miller's Bread Kitchen
11am
Miller's Bread Kitchen in Dromana is absolutely elite, the converted garage just off Nepean is loaded with baked goods and top-tier bread which is all baked on-site. I'm loading up on a coffee, a little s snack and of course something naughty with the croissant to fuel me for the rest of the day.
Cape Schanck Lighthouse Walk
1pm
Got to work off all the butter and sugar so we're heading for a walk at the Cape Schanck lighthouse walk. It's ideal for me as an extremely amateur hiker as its only 750m each way, you still get absolutely spanking views of the ruggedly beautiful and raw coastline but without the lengthy up and back.
Merrick's General Store
3pm
We're finishing up at Merrick's General Store, right on the side of the road this spot is an absolute dream. Inside there's a cafe, wine bar, and providore, so we're sitting up for a glass of absolutely baning local pinot noir from Elgee Park and then we're stocking up on local supplies from the next-door providore.
