Stargaze With Sips In Hand At The Planetarium’s Adults Only Sessions

By

People in a fulldome cinema.

It’s always a vibe when one of Melbourne’s cultural hubs puts on an after-dark, adults-only, boozy session, and the latest to do so is none other than the Scienceworks Planetarium.

The absolute stars down at the fulldome are hosting every Friday night for the next two months. The screenings are best thought of as an intersection of science and art, with the 7:30pm sessions including visuals focusing on astromony and a presenter-led tour of what’s in the sky.

The 9pm session on Fridays will take a more conceptual approach with a sensory voyage into unknown worlds via the (very big, domed) screen. And yes, for those wondering, the planetarium bar will also be open for business during both sessions so that you can stargaze with a sip in hand.

Tickets for February’s sessions are going quick, but there are still plenty available for screenings during March—snap them up here.

Make a night of it and check out the final evening sessions at the NGV, too.
