If you’re looking to get hitched in or around Melbourne, finding a venue can feel a little overwhelming. To you help you find your way, consider one of these seven venues by Nudo, whose expert staff can help you design and run your upcoming nuptials with ease.
Whether you’re having a massive blow-out or an intimate shindig, one of these gorgeous venues will cater to most, if not all, your needs. Take a look through these event spaces and consider which could fit your guest list and personality to a T.
The Trust
The Trust is a brand-new site for those who want to infuse their nuptials with a bit of timeless glamour. Dubbed ‘Manhattan Meets Melbourne’, the former Port Authority building on Flinders Lane will provide the perfect venue for those wanting an elegant wedding in the heart of the city.
The Beaux-Arts-inspired structure was designed and built in 1929 by Hansen Yuncken—the architects behind some of Australia’s most iconic heritage buildings. Now, the wedding specialists at Nudo have renovated and restored the interior to provide Melbourne’s most glamorous new events venue.
The Trust is set to officially open in February but book a viewing now to beat the rush.
The Wool Mill
Would you prefer a chic industrial warehouse vibe for your special day? If yes, then you may want to check out The Wool Mill in Brunswick East. The two-level, former industrial space has high ceilings, minimalist decor and plenty of exposed brick for a raw backdrop upon which you can build. The venue’s black and white colour palette is the perfect backdrop for your chosen style and floral designs.
Plus, being a warehouse, there’s plenty of room for a lengthy guest list and a pumping dance floor.
The Button Factory
Similar to The Wool Mill, the Button Factory is a minimal, former industrial warehouse for creative souls. The Button Factory, however, is situated a little further afoot in Melbourne’s southern suburbs.
This Cheltenam-based venue is mix of home comfort and style—but with plenty of that suburban space. There are three separate ‘rooms’ for your enjoyment: The Garden, The Gallery and The Loft. The Garden is a leafy indoor area that brings the outdoors in; giving couples the potential for a quirky ceremony before heading inside for cocktails at The Gallery. Up to 200 guests can then move into The Loft space for the rest of the night.
If you’re keen to have a wedding away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to the city to get home with ease, reach out to The Button Factory team.
Chapel 1885
Chapel 1885 is a loft-style venue with gorgeous red brick and timber finishes that will steep your nuptials in warmth and indulgence.
This is the ideal venue for intimacy and romance, with capacity for 72 seated or 90 cocktail-style guests. Nevertheless, there are still multiple spaces to allow for the separation of your ceremony and reception, as desired. There is also a courtyard for cocktails or a few outdoor snaps.
Vitally, there is also a large arched window – the perfect romantic accessory – allowing for plenty of natural light and the perfect architectural structure under which to say ‘I Do’.
If you’re planning an intimate affair, Chapel 1885 is a must-see.
The Ivory
The Ivory at Elsternwick is ideal for those wanting a traditional wedding. The white, Georgian-style structure comes classic flourishes, like tall columns, white arbours, wisteria vines and a rose garden for the ultimate fairytale day. Think: crown mouldings, chandeliers, a fire place and a ballroom.
All that, plus you’re not far from the beach if you want to sneak off for some snaps by the sea.
There’s a capacity of 400, so if you’re planning a big Big Day, filled with understated vintage style, be sure to take a look.
Gather & Tailor
If you’re after a large venue with a rustic vibe in Melbourne—Gather & Tailor is your answer. This large warehouse in west Melbourne is a blank canvas with exposed beams and floorboards, making it perfect for anyone wanting a bit of a ‘chic urban barn’ look.
While the venue has plenty of perks, one of its best could be its accessibility. Not only is it easily accessible by public transport but it has parking (!) for those who want to bring their car, it also has wheelchair-accessible entrances and elevators.
Gather & Tailor can host an intimate affair if desired, but those wanting a large affair will be thrilled with its 400-person capacity. Whatever you plan, we imagine it will turn into quite the party. Browse the venue and chat to the wedding stylists to see how you can mould this space for your perfect day.
Two Ton Max
This polished warehouse space in North Melbourne offers a mix between fairytale romance and contemporary industrial.
The nature of Two Ton Max allows you to dress it up or down as desired, whether your theme is country bohemian, dramatic and ‘moody’, or contemporary and minimalist. Whatever your style, the high ceilings will certainly add grandeur to your design.
If your guest list is between 240 (sit-down) and 350 (cocktail), meet with the experts at Two Ton Max to find out how they can create your dream wedding.
If you’re still not sure which venue is right for you, take your time to browse through all venues by Nudo or contact their team to see if they can direct you towards your perfect fit.
