The Verdict
Nestled in Seaford, 38 South Bar and Café is a vibrant fresh of air for the beach-side suburb.
The busy café serves up all your brunch-time favourites with a vibrant twist turns into a sleek tapas and cocktail bar by night. Since they opened earlier this year, Jim Derzekos, alongside his wife Alena and three children have sought to bring “quality food, second to none service and fresh new concepts to the area”.
38 South focuses on a Modern Australian fare that showcases fresh local produce with creative twists that create fresh and vibrant flavours. Dishes range from daytime Corny Corn Fritters with shredded zucchini, mild spices, crème corma, fresh beets, mint chutney and hummus to dinner options that deliver the same creativity and wow-factor.
38 South has launched weekly Burger Nights which are set to rival fish and chips as the perfect beachside meal.
Hop in the car, grab your towel and swimmers and use a trip to 38 South as an excuse to escape down the coast to Shelford for a beach day.
