48h has answered our prayers: An amazing gnocchi joint that caters for our gluten-free buddies as well. Plus, this gnocchi is actually something to write home about - especially if that home just happens to be Italy.
But first, let's start with the starters - naturally. We tried a delectable homemade bruschetta-style dish, topped with chunky, juicy tuna flakes and buffalo mozarella flown in from Italy. Yep, straight from the mother country. Throw in some sweet cherry toms, and huge leaves of basil and this is literally bruschetta heaven.
The pizzas are pretty great too - and that's coming from someone who lives within walking distance of the original 400 Gradi... A fired base that has that hint of charcoal, topped with oversized caper berries and barely-cooked prawn? Yes please.
But we're all here for the gnocchi - and it is, in essence, their signature dish. There are three options here, and all of them are made with gluten free flour: your standard, topped with classic ragu or, our choice, the flakey lamb, olives and wild mushrooms. *hands in the air emoji*
If you want something a little different go for the 'carbone' - mixed with activated charcoal to deliver a black gnocchi - or the 'gamberi', loaded with prawn. Really, you can't go wrong.
