Bang Bang At The Rifle Club
The Verdict
Now open, this hawt new Indochine-inspired café and bar was, as the name suggests, formerly the historic Caulfield Rifle Club. This urban escape now serves everything from Seven Seeds coffee and an all-day breakfast menu, through to ripe summer fruit cocktails and ‘crispy cricket’ bar snacks.
Open seven days a week, Bang Bang’s day shoots off with breakfast menu highlights such as the black stick rice porridge and coconut broth, congee with XO sauce and masterstock pork, and smoked trout, prawn and spring onion. The lunch menu delivers baguettes or jasmine rice bowls with a choice of fillings including crisp fried chicken, mint, coriander and chilli, or soft shell crab with papaya and tamarind salad.
The evening menu then throws down some delish French cuisine in the form of share platters, such as tofu and crisp pumpkin lab and rotisserie whole chickens with steamed bread.
Obviously, Elsternwick’s newest player on the food scene is definitely one to check out.
