The Verdict

Each time Euro summer rolls around, half of Melbourne is left at home. The least we can do to numb the pain is enjoy some authentic and vibey French cuisine, right in the heart of Armadale.

Back again, with a new and improved ethos and fit-out, Bouzy Bar delivers a rowdy Parisian bar and dining experience that starts early and cruises late into the evening. Not only is there a ridiculous and extensive drinks and food menu, but Fridays and Saturdays also feature an in-house DJ to kickstart your weekend antics.

Breathing fresh life into this High Street gem is construction magnate Glenn Eagles, who takes the reins from Jason M Jones, the mind behind Melbourne’s iconic Entrecote. The reimagined and updated venue boasts sexy marble interiors, chocolate velvet tones, polished brass, terrazzo, and alluring dim lighting, creating a bespoke and unique atmosphere for all occasions.

Doors swing open at 5.30pm on Thursday to Sunday, and you can get some kickass snacks at the giant, horse-shoe terrazzo bar. Eagles brings his own twist to the former French menu, spruiking an 80/20 split: 80 per cent French, and 20 per cent fusion cuisine.

The drinks offering is divine, with some rare bottles (like a $185,000 Penfolds number) available upon request. In-house, there are some gorgeous options like their large format Magnums ‘on pour’ each evening.
