The verdict

Breakfast Thieves, on Gore Street in Fitzroy, offers a funky alternative to traditional brunch. Much like the suburb of Fitzroy, you can expect to find something a little different on the menu including trifle yoghurt, apple and peach almond crumble, with a side of soft boiled eggs and melted cheese soldiers. If childhood nostalgia doesn't reel you in perhaps cultural curiosity will, with a traditional spanish morcilla (black pudding) served on a corn tortilla, baby endive, prebre salsa and polenta crushed eggs. Not into eggs? Breakfast Thieves have that covered too with their vanilla and honey porridge, and orange and rosewater infused bircher muesli. Vegetarian and gluten free options are also available as well as the usual bacon and eggs.
