THE VERDICT

Somewhat surprisingly, Melbourne hasn’t had a rooftop brewery bar in her midst yet, but that’s about to change with Brewmanity. With three levels including their brewery, a beer hall and two rooftop bars, Brewmanity will have you covered from top to bottom.

Brewmanity has a philanthropic ethos, as well as a passion for craft beer. Their philosophy is to ‘make good beer better’ – using the history of different beer styles and marrying it with modern techniques and ingredients to create the perfect sip, no matter your taste.

This 400-capacity venue opens March, and has a staggering 34 taps from head brewer Tim Miller. Of course, wines, spirits and cocktails are also available, but if you’re looking to try a bit of everything, they’ll have tasting paddles available.

Tap offerings will include the Hazy IPA, a Belgium Tripel, a Hefeweizen that’s been slightly adjusted according to the Aussie palette, and a smoked dark larger. Their 21-day brewing process, which calls for natural fermentation and excludes additives, is one of their points of pride.

The industrial beer hall on the ground floor has a direct view of the brewing process, with patrons in the eye-line of the huge stainless steel fermenters. Up one floor is ‘Next Level’, housing Melbourne’s first-ever brewery bar and sweeping, panoramic views of the city skyline. Atop it is another rooftop bar, perfect to end the evening on.
