The Details

In the mood for
  • Beer

The crew at Brick Lane Brewing have a brand new venture launching at the end of November 2023, and cracking a few cold ones is all but guaranteed. Introducing Brick Lane Market, conveniently located right in Queen Victoria Market. The iconic location is only matched by the building itself—once the premise of the infamous Mercat Cross Hotel (if you know, you know).

Brick Lane Market boasts a 150-seat terrace with a direct view into the QVM, as well as a 120-seat dining room and 16-seat private function room. Of course, they’ll be serving up a rotating list of fresh beer on the daily, many of them Melbourne-based. With 36 beers on tap, including One Love Pale Ale and Hi-Fi Dry Zero Carb Japanese Lager, you're sure to find something that takes your fancy. Of course, the core range from Brick Lane Brewing will be available, but they’re also offering up a range of bevs from the local crews including Starward Whiskey, Little Lon Distilling, Noisy Ritual, and Billy Button

Also in the works is their Raw Bar, serving up freshly shucked oysters and other seafood, all sourced from the QVM no less. The menu will include small plates like Stracciatella with pickled green chilli, Aleppo, and focaccia, and large plates including sharing-style pork belly with chilli caramel and gochujang. Fromage fanatics can look forward to a cheese quartet straight from the QVM deli, alongside quince and honeycomb, and they’ve lovingly paired their entire menu with perfect beer accompaniments.

Brick Lane first came to QVM five years ago, where they first tapped a keg during one of their renowned Winter Night Markets. Now, alongside the ground floor bar, which opened up earlier in 2023, Brick Lane Market is an ideal location for after-work drinks, or a place of solace after the hustle and bustle of the QVM.

Brick Lane Markets opens Wednesday 29 November.
