You know sometimes you stumble onto a picture of a burrito, and it looks so damn good, so juicy and gnarly and stuffed with reasonably-priced guac, that you just want to reach into your screen and grab it? Yeah, Burrito Bae makes those.

These guys are a staple on Melbourne’s northside food truck scene, and you’ll usually find Bec and Alana flinging burritos to crowds of hungry punters at The Ascot Lot. The guys have also been the official burrito partner for Nova 100 and Swinburne Uni. Not too shabby at all.

Burrito Bae’s menu doesn’t mess about. You’ve got burritos (duh), in either grilled chicken, slow-cooked beef, vegeterian or vegan varieties. Burrito bowls and nachos topped with house-made pico di gallo and delicious chipotle mayo. And in case you were wondering ... yes, everything is made fresh onsite each day. For your sweet tooth you can order chocolate, caramel or cinnamon churros for dessert, so sweet and crispy you’ll want to start a god-damned mariachi band. Wash it all down with a bottle of frosty Jarritos, and Juan's your new uncle.

There are dozens of Mexican restaurants in Melbourne, all throwing their sombrero into the ring for ‘Best Burrito Ever’. It’s all subjective of course, but trust us when we say, these guys can dance with the best of them.

You can find Burrito Bae at their permanent parking spot, the Ascot Lot Food Truck Park, from Wednesday to Sunday,12pm to 9pm. You can also order online through Mr Yum and Uber Eats.
