The Verdict
For over 20 years, this foodie institute has been serving up greatness, food comas, and 'gramm-able food porn. Nestled in the gateway of the botanical gardens, Cafe Domain is about as Melbourne as you can get. Open 7 days a week, this spacious and light filled cafe has a unique and varied menu that will satify everyone.
Featuring all day breakfast with the much loved classics of smashed avo and eggs on toast, Cafe Domain screams Melbournian through and through. Indulge in some waffles for lunch from the all day breakfast menu, or go healthier with their dish of freekah, walnuts, spiced pumpkin and chicken or lamb.
While Cafe Domain is licensed, and has a wide range of Australian/non Australian beers and wine, it's also BYO after 6pm on weekdays. With dinner specials to make your week better—$20 for a parma and beer on Wednesdays (ummm yes please!)—and happy hour from 4-7 on Thursday, you'd be silly not to stop here on your way out of the city from work. Or just because you can't be bothered to cook.
Sneaky side note: they'll even cater an event for you!
