Among the bustling food scene of Swan Street is a new kid on the block, Casa Mariotti.

With over two decades of hospo experience in both Rome and Melbourne, brothers Guido and Giacomo have created a slick modern space with all the cosiness and warmth of traditional Italian dining you know and love.

The Roman-inspired menu is a sharing situation (nautrally) with recipes having been plucked straight from the family cookbook. The Roman rice balls are a Nonna Mariotti special, and so is the signature pasta sauce, bucatini all’amatriciana (tomato-based). If you’re sticking around to the end, you can indulge in fresh, cream-filled Italian buns or roll with the OG tiramisu—neither option will disappoint.

Drink wise, there’s beer, cocktails and plenty of vino from both the motherland and down under. And of course, it wouldn’t be a true Italian haunt without some designated aperitivo time, which you can enjoy from 4-6pm everyday.
